Vulcanized Fiber or G10 for Scale Liners?

I'm getting ready to place an order for some .062" liners to thicken the handle on my ESEE-4. I'm looking at both the vulcanized and G10.
I read where the vulcanized absorbs moisture but then read where some custom knife makers use it exclusively so I'm confused. The vendor says to go over the exposed edges with Super Glue to seal them from soaking up moisture but I'm wondering how that will look.
My knife will be a hard use tool which means it will get wet and I plan on washing it often. .062" is rather thick and I don't want it to become a sponge. Will this be a real issue? I'd like to complete this improvement and not have to ever worry about it again.

I can just as easily go with G10 I guess but at .062" I'm wondering if thats so thick it will be hard to work with given G10's hardness. What are the pros - cons of each?

Also, two liners .062" = .124 increase in thickness. Is that a too thick of an increase? I've brought out the calipers and it seems it would make for a thick, beefy grip for a hard use knife.

TIA

Here's a knife I made using vfl's.

My understanding is that a number of the old knives that originally used vfl have needed replaced due to swelling. I used it because I had it on hand. I made the handle and pin material too so if it needs eventual replacement it'll be no biggie.

I suggest going with g10, especially if you plan to stack the liners. I've tried that with the vfl and had issues with getting the edges even.

Oh forgot to mention, I soaked the liners in the knife above in CA. They did drink a bit in, but the stuff dries quickly. I also used white pigment in the epoxy so that may have some sealing effect as well.

A lot of trouble if you ask me.

I found a black bucket-like plastic cover that went on a game feeder that I had tossed that is slightly over .090" thickness that I'm going to cut liners out of. That should really beef up the thickness. Hope ACE Hardware has some longer fasters. I'll post pics of this project.
