Hey all,

Ordered from the Rev. Pease himself. Stabilized Black Palm scales, textured and heat colored SS bolsters, filework, the blade just a shade under 3" Let me know what you think.

Best Regards,

Very slick. I REALLY like the bolster treatment on this one. Enjoy!

I've seen that bolster texturing of his before, but it wasn't heat colored like this, I like it colored a lot more.

But, since this is Steven, and I know he appreciates honest answers, :) I personally would have opted for a different handle material, generally, wood doesn't excite me, I would have preferred fossil ivory, stag or pearl on the knife. So there! :)

(Hey, that felt good, maybe Steve is onto something here... :)

I will not do any of the ivories. They are way to unstable for the West Coast. This is based on personal observation, not second hand info. One of my friends, a maker from WA state is dumping all his fossil ivory, it goes from a wet state to a dry one usually, and shrinks, no matter what.

I have one piece that I got before I knew how unstable ivory can be, and it is mammoth interior, and was made in Nevada, which is actually drier than San Diego, so I lucked out. This one has held together just fine.

Stag is not an option because no one has any.

Pearl would have put the knife over my spending limit. I like palm, but have never had any knives made out of it, so actually, this one is rather pleasing to me.

Thanks for your thoughts, there really is no reason to hold back. As my tattoo business card says, "Unleash the animal within".

Best Regards,

I think the knife looks like crap and I hope you didn't actually pay for it!
There! you happy , you pyscho? :D

Just kidding of course. Actually, Pease makes such a beautiful folder. This one is no exception. I also like palm a lot.

Living near the beach in southern cal as I do, I know from experience that ivory is worthless on a knife around here.

Good choice imo.

"let me know what you think..."

I think the Rev. Pease needs to hire a professional photographer. Outside of that I am certain it's a wonderful piece. But, I'd never know it from here... ;)

(Having handled a number of Bill's pieces I am dead certain how well-made it is.) Good choice, Stephen!

Knock on wood, or ivory as the case may be, I have not yet had any problems with fossil ivory, I do soak them in mineral oil a few times a year and keep them waxed, so far, so good. If that changes it will be a shame, since fossil ivory is my favorite material.

Steve, like you once said, when you edit in Photoshop, it's always a tradeoff, but, I still think it looks a little better edited. :)

However,

That picture came directly from the Rev. hisself. I was not at work today, and that is where my setup is. I have no art software on my home computer, and I took the day off from work to hang out with my wife.

Sometimes I miss it, but it keeps me from bringing my work home, and then I would need two Wacom tablets....... :D

Best Regards,
