Was wondering and hopeful if any of you fine folks and Straight Razor buffs would be kind enough to confirm and perhaps enlighten me about factual information and details on age, handle material, ect.. regarding the following razor, please?.

What I think I know thus far is the tang stamp seems to date to 1905-1914 but I was looking to nail down the date a bit more specifically. Carbon steel(type?) Also the handle material is some type of Forrest Green composite but thats about all I can gather. And what is the significance of the 'REAL RED POINT' stamp?.

Any assistance will be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Tang stamps on razors do not always follow the guide for stamps of knives. Acording to Sargent's book in the section by Rich Kupillas( razors may not be in latest editions) the tang stamp is from 1920-1955. The early red points had white or cream handles with a red point logo on the handle. I have never seen a black handled red point. Perhaps it is a very late razor or not an original handle. Looks like nice condition.
As to the Tested mark on the box, Case used it on boxes after they stopped marking pocket knives with the tested xx mark.

Nice razor. Handle is probably celluloid. Straightrazorplace.com has the real experts.
