Well I guess the other thread sure did jump start me on getting my straights fixed up. I dug out this worn, broken, ugly Case razor of the drawer and after a little contemplation and a quick sanity check I started in on it.

Reprofiled the nose into a full round, ground the edge back by hand on a selection of stones. Polished and cleaned up the surfaces but did not want to remove the minor pitting and patina marks. I stropped the edge and it is darn sharp, but not shave ready.

Next came the scales, I got a block of amboyna burl from my bud DanCo a while back and it was just what it needed. I cut a couple of small scale blanks and drew my pattern design on. I tacked them together with a couple drops of CA and profiled then drilled. I made the wedge from walrus ivory and the pins are hand hammered and domed 1/16" brass. Finish is CA and hand rubbed.

Let me know what you think, good or not so good.

Outstanding! Love the use of the ivory too, that's pretty dang rare.

Entertaining thoughts of selling it perchance? :D

That is really nice looking. I love to see old razors made new again and used by someone who apreciates them. If you want more comments you should post over at badgerandblade or straightrazorplace, if you haven't already.

I didn't know Case made straights (not surprised) and I also didn't know a straight could look so nice yet be so simple. Great job!

Anyone who has emailed or PM'd me with questions, please do so again. I lost some messages and some replies bounced back with bad addresses.

I will try to respond to all questions.
