I recently purchased a larger size folder with a name WR Clark inscribed on one side of the blade and a bone on the other. The knife bears a strong resemblence to a Sebenza except the scales are silver in color and it is a liner lock rather than a frame lock. Can anyone tell me some information on this maker, what materials he used in his knives, reputation and how much they go for? Thanks for any help.

Wayne Clark was a blade grinder for Protech, made knives with his own company Dynamic Knife Designs, as well as custom knives. The only manual knife he made for either company that I'm aware of was the Protech Integrity, but that was a framelock. So I would guess you have one of his customs. Pictures would certainly help.

Forum member perado collects Clark's knives. I sent him a PM with a link to this thread, maybe he'll be able to help you out.

Hey kolhoznik, does it look like this?

The handle scales should have an orange peel finish; titanium. He ususally used ATS 34 with his heat-treatment.

Mr. Clark has produced a large number of different designs in manual and automatic. Aside from his customs, he had been responsible for some of the prettiest (IMHO) blade grinds and designs from ProTech, as well as Auto-Tech and DKD.

As far as value...now that you know a little more about the maker, does that increase your value of the knife?

Enjoy.

try a google search and you will find other forum threads and links to knife dealers sites. He also made fixed blades such as this one

Does that knife say R.W. Clark? Mine says W. R. Clark; are there two makers?

I will try to get some pics posted tomorrow.

you have a good question. I was not sure if the original post just transposed the initials as that is not uncommon to have occur.

R.W. Clark and W.R. Clark are two different makers.

I took a photo of the knife but can't seem to post it here. Does any one know how?

Clark and ats34 I know thats the steel as far as one of his customs I’m not sure it looks like a destiny it’s a button lock auto but it is an auto tech not a dnd production
