I've had this finished for a while but thought I might as well post it!
This handle material had me fooled. It started out as what I thought was a second-rate piece of ironwood. Not!
Even though it is rather straight-grained, it is simply as hard as a rock! It finished out so smooth it feels like a piece of marble. When I close my eyes and hold it, I can't even tell it's a piece of wood.
It's nice stuff, and very colorful as well.
The blade is forge from a 1 1/8" round piece of W1 and has a nice clayed hamon.
Yup. Take-down with stainless fittings.
It's a handful for a hunter - 10 3/4" overall with a 5 7/8" blade.

That handle looks sooo comfy. I'd love to be able to pick that one up and play with it.

To me, this is one of the best looking knives you have made that i have had the opportunity to see. I bet it works great as well.

I agree with Keith. My favorite of those of yours I have had the opportunity to see.

That one made me look over at the Makers for sale forum before I posted (just as well, I probably couldn't afford it anyway!). Might be a bit large for a hunter (as you said) but looks like a great knife anyway!
