thanks guys, i spent the day finishing the blade and fitting the guard and spacers...now for the Ebony

here it is...im really debating on wheather or not to save this one back for my JS submission..the blade is dead nuts straight the handle worked out as planned....i just wish my pics could do it justice

It's a striking piece and looks to be very clean. I like the shape of the guard, but would have preferred it to be a bit less wide. I know you achieved precisely the look you were going for from the sketch, it's just that the slender blade would work better with less guard to my very subjective eye.

Lon, I believe the guard would benefit from being reshaped a little. More following the contours depicted in your drawing. To clarify, rather than your guard coming out slightly at 90 degrees to your handle then starting it's gradual contour to the tip, I suggest starting your contour right from the handle as you did in your drawing. Perhaps giving it a more formed/contoured look as opposed to blocky/chunky.
I assume it's only slid together as I don't see a pin in the handle.

You have such a nice flow going from blade tip to handle butt. The guard just breakes it up a bit in my opinion.

The piece is a good concept, and well done. I'd agree about the guard
though.

BTW...The "F" stands for "frogstabber".......right..?
 
thanks for all the input...i dont look at the words as harsh critisim its truly the only way i have at learning since i dont have a master close to me the closest being Kevin Cashen in MI. so thank you all for your comments they are helpful :)
.ill see what i can do with this bugger but unfortunatly its togather and its going to stay that way unless i really want it to come apart gotta love the epoxey
