Here is a little hunter I finished not too long ago. I still need to make a sheath for it. Critiques and comments welcomed.

Blade: Aldo's W2 with hamon, 4.5"
Guard: Wrought iron and copper
Handle: Stabilized Koa with copper pin
OAL: 9.25"

Love the profile and dimensions all around. A hunting knife is a precision tool, not a weapon, so I prefer <5" designs. (though I'd tend toward non-oxidizable bolster material)

Also, that rifle looks *pristine*!

daizee,

Points well taken. I am not much of a hunter yet. I haven't really made the effort with all the other things that take up my time. I generally let my eye tell me what it wants when designing a knife. Perhaps the knife might fall into the category of "woods companion" if there were such a classification. This blade is 4.5" from tip to guard with a 4" cutting edge. In any case, I just liked the size and shape. The rifle does get used but I try to keep it clean.

Thanks folks.

An all around real beauty ......hunter, woods knife or utility....it'll get the job done.

That's exceptional.....[emoji106]

Keep trusting that eye!
There is such a classification, and I think this one fits both, but don't mistake me for an expert.
I love it. How thick is the blade at the ricasso?

when I opened this thread, my browser had the picture scaled such that all I could see was the handle to the ricasso (so I had to scroll down) - the actual words out of my mouth with just the handle were, "Ohhh, my gosh!"

Very nice work, sir. Love that curly koa, and the hamon on that blade is dynamite!

I really am liking this one, looked at it the other day and had to look at it again, that wood is just awesome.

Very nice design, and lovely execution. There is nothing about this one I don't like.
