Just finished up this puppy. I had a lot of fun forging this blade; W2 high carbon steel blade with integral guard. Handle is my own cast Impregg handle material (sanitized crushed egg shell, mica powder, and G-Flex epoxy) and ebony. The Impregg material is translucent in the thinner areas around the guard. The hamon came out almost exactly as intended - a little closer to the edge in spots but still very serviceable.

I've used cast eggshell before too. I left it white, and ground it up in a coffee grinder. It turned out well.

Beautiful blade. Ive hitherto used a bowie for pig sticking but wouldnt hesitate to use that very efficient looking blade for sticking a hog.

Must admit, that Im not keen on the handle material. It looks like someone with intestinal parasites puked up Osso Buco (Im KIDDING!).

How ever to each his own and I do applaud new ways of making handles - makes for a nice break from traditional (staid) looking knives.

I can give you an honest opinion, but am not sure if it will be hilarious.

You game?

Best Regards,

I think the blade design looks nice and functional, and the integral guard is super cool!

The flesh-tone of the handle makes it look kinda like an alien dick ready to "impregg" an abductee. :D

Cool knife, TheoRockNazz.

I'm glad you said it for me!

Haha! A very honest and hilarious opinion, thank you
Thank you for recognizing the humorous slant and taking it in your stride.

And again, I like the blade itself - it harks back to a simpler time when hunters might dispatch a boar or deer with a long bladed 'Hirschfänger-like' blade.

Kudos for innovation.
