Here's a 7 1/2" Short Bowie forged from large stock W2 and clay treated to expose a delicious little hamon!
Rope filed stainless guard, satin spacer and fitted/polished butt cap with a stainless finial for your take-down pleasure!
Rock solid piece of Sambar Stag left the way Nature designed it.
Tons of fun!

Really nice Karl,

Great way to bring the stag curve all the way down to blade tip, great stag, sweet hamon, and nice to see some rope file-work.

The knife from the "WIP" addiction thread. It looks great. You are producing a great deal of variety in your knives, and that's something I like to see.

You sure did justice to that fine piece of stag - that is one sweet bowie Karl.

Turned out great Karl with a K. ;) It all flows together beautifully, and that file work and hamon really dresses it up perfectly.

and it looks damned efficient, too!
Let's go chop some stuff:thumbup:

I like that very much. That is a great looking piece of stag and nice filework.

In looking at the pictures, I think I would like it more if the guard were a bit wider however:D

I wonder why?
I sticks out well past the spacer as it is.

I guess it is just a matter of personal preference Karl. It also may be simply how the pictures show it, but to my eye, looking at the size of the blade and handle, it seems like the guard looks a bit small.

You make some GREAT looking knives and my comment is based ONLY on MY opinion FWIW.
