Good luck! W-2 hasn't been made in the US for quite sometime. What you've been seeing here lately is left over and re-surfaced in small quantities. Don Hanson III had one of the largest batches but I believe he's either out of it or real close to it.

The guys from the British Blades forums tell me that it is still fairly available in the UK and I have also been told that the japanese still produce and use it, but that they tend to like the stuff that has carbon content in the upper reaches of the standard range. The nice thing about the GM W2 that Don has is that it has a nice mid range carbon content and low manganese.
