Any HI forumites who consider themselves knowlegeable in either or both of these categories.....please email privately....I have real basic questions and I don't want to bore the rest of the group. bikehunter@icehouse.net This is one of the very few forums where I feel comfortable in asking off topic questions as everyone seems to be friends (or most, anyway) and have a wide range of interests. <g>

You definitely need a good broadhead if you're going bowhunting for keyboard synthesizers. It might not be a bad idea to carry a backup pistol as well. I have a friend who was gored by a Moog 3P during a hunting trip in the Cascades. If they hadn't been able to get him out with a helicopter, he would have died from loss of blood.

I would take that as it reads in that you think the people on this forum have a lot of knowledge about what you asked for.
I might have wrote the same thing Dean did in reply with that thought in mind.
Archery has been talked about a lot on this forum and a search will/or should turn up quite a bit of informative material. I would do a search, since you know how as you have so succinctly put it, and then if you have further questions we will be glad to help.

Maybe you just had a case of indigestion last night?;)

Korg and Kawai tend to be my choices for keyboards, prefer an external midi box to the onboard voices generally, and the sky is the limit from there. I've been out of the audio and recording area for years now, so my knowledge is dated, stale and forgotten. :)

You think wrong.
Both for this forum & Bladeforums in general.
I know there are threads
& plenty, because I checked the search results.
I had no personal advice to offer beyond this resource,
although I shot targets for several years
I'm not up to date.

Your rudeness is not appreciated.

Goodbye.

Thanks for all the great help guys.

I thought it was good-humored teasing. Still do.

We got enough tension in our world lately, don't you think?

Rosanne Rosannadanna used to tidy up misunderstandings nicely.

"never mind" :)

I don't mind teasing.......just kinda wanted a little help instead. I received several off the forum responses, as I requested, so I'll get what I need, I'm sure. I guess I felt a bit offended at being treated as if I'm too stupid/ignorant to know that the forum has a search feature. Then I realized that this is ddean's standard response. ;) No harm done. :D

Um, sticking my nose in here where it doesn't belong, but generally smilies indicated some sort of humor/teasing is going on. Ichor's a good guy, and I don't think he meant anything by his comment. I don't mean to single you out, Dean, but everyone has been way too edgy on this forum lately.

Josh I agree, to a point anyway and in general. But in this case I thought Ichor was out of line with his post considering that Dean is one of the most helpful members here and that's what brought the response I gave to Ichor. But I figured maybe Ichor was having a bad night, maybe something happened during the day to set him off or something and that's why I put the..."Maybe you just had a case of indigestion last night?;)" at the end of my post.
Here's Ichor's post:

I know Ichor has a smilie at the end but he had no reason to call Dean a "smartass" and then basically accuse Dean of not being helpful when Dean is one of the most helpful people on this forum. :grumpy:

I think the big problem is that not enough people do a search on what they're looking for to begin with.
So many requests are on subjects that have been beat to death it seems, ie, Loose butt caps, Finish blade or handle, Sharpen their khuk etc. I can see it if someone doesn't really know how to search, or at least qualify there post by saying they have tried to search and aren't finding what they're looking for but I think most of it is just plain laziness and that's with myself not always being successful at a search, but at least I tried.
But on the other hand maybe some of us old timers have just been around too long and have seen all that and it's time for us to move on to somewheres else and let all the newer guys and gals answer the same old questions over and over until they get tired of it.;)

This will be my last statement here on the subject.
(& thanks Yvsa)
Adding to what I already said.........

I could have ignored the post,
but I tried to help......

As he obviously hadn't searched
(therefore knowledge of search function not relevant at all),
or he would have found out who has posted on the subject before
(therefore who has the knowledge/interest)
& could be emailed directly to those individuals,
or, posted on the previous threads as usually done.

I could have Emailed a note like,
"there are a number of posts on this forum & most likely throughout bladeforums
search: archery
to get a list"
but why go to the trouble to Email it when in 10 seconds I could type a reply.

If I hadn't been in a hurry I would have added a sentence as above.

I have had complaint from other people in the past that I was too helpful, that they wanted pointers to where to find the info
not the info itself.

What's a guy to do?

BTW, I don't feel especially edgy.
Calling me a smartass for providing my best reasonable help
is/was uncalled for & plain rude.

I b done.

Well, I should probably let this go, but........I don't consider telling someone to do a search even slightly helpful. And as alluded to.....you're basically telling someone that they're ignorant or lazy. I'm neither.....unless we're talking about loose butt caps......then ignorant applies. If you're an old timer and have seen the question too many times........and you have nothing constructive to offer.......how 'bout just ignoring it?

OK....I apologize. I obviously took it the wrong way. Peace.

The basic thing is had you done a search instead of getting a case of the hard ass there wouldn't have been any need for anyone else to try to help you.
I'm done with the subject too.

Well, to get things back on topic, here's a picture of a multimoog I took last year near Mt. Lassen. This photo was taken by the taxidermist.
