Well, I got another "Buck Benza" as 334dave puts it, a Buck TNT. It has ridden proud with my large micarta Sebenza, and is a great knife (had one and either sold/traded it, can't remember which but I have one now :)). I have been looking at the Waimea, looks like a great knife too. I had an Mnandi, small Queen made Northwest small stockman etc, and got rid of them because they were too small (I have big hands). Before I get it, looking at the specs on it, is it too small for me? I have seen it online and in catalogs, but never in person (they've always been sold out. Just to let you know, the perfect "feel great in your hand" folder for me was the Strider SMF. Yep, I've got big paws ;).

I think it will be too small for you. I found the TNT to be small for me and the Waimea was way too small.

Great knife, but not for me.

Comparison pictures might help. The Waimea has a surprising amount of grip area on the handle relative to its total length. And it is not radiused with a thin edge like the TNT so it is actually more comfortable.

I hate that picture. After seeing it last winter/spring, I had to have a mini Skirmish... then a Skirmish... then a JYDII Ti/SG-2... then a 760BK LFTi (M4!). It was all because I 'thought' I wanted a 172 TNT. Now, I still want a 172 TNT... and now, add a 171 to that list! 'I want, I want, I want...' - the first phrase my grandkids could speak. Those acorns didnt fall far from this old oak.

Does it ever end?
