Waistband ziptie?

Posted this at the bottom of someone else's thread in Reviews & Testing, but I don't think it's going to get much exposure.

Anyway, curious whether anyone has used the ziptie-on-thumbhole trick to open a knife from IWB carry position. Effective?

sounds like a good way to cut yourself, but never tried or anything.

From my limited experience with a ziptied Dodo, it doesn't work.

The tie hasn't much to catch onto and would need to stick out further on the clip side to be effective, I believe. The corner of the pocket works very well and it just doesn't have that kind of resistance when carried IWB.

Other people's experiences may vary.
