Wait for a Becker?

Ok, so Becker is making a comeback. I was just getting ready to purchase an RTAK-II. But, now I'm thinking I should wait and see what Becker reintroduces. I'm looking for a large chopping knife. I have never owned one before so does anyone have any experience with either company?

I liked my RATs, but I already have a ton of Rats. Looking at Ranger RD models, more Swamp Rats, just sold a RAT7, might get a RAT5. Beckers and RATs are great knives, you just have to buy them, use them, and make your decision.

The RTAK-II has received many great reviews and so have the Beckers. Either one would be worthwhile. Another option I'd strongly recommend is a Ranger RD-7 or RD-9. Justin is a great guy to work with.

Definitely opt for a Ranger.
I have never been more pleased with a product and the customer service is second to NONE.

I have considered the Ranger as well. I currently have a Becker Necker and a Rat-5. Both great knives although I did have to rework the edge on the Rat a bit. What is a good length for a camp chopper? I'm thinking the 9-10 inch range.

My RD-7 works great for camp tasks. Its small enough to handle the lighter work and large enough to chop up firewood.

Ok, I have another question. I notice the Ranger knives have a clip point and the Rat knives are drop point. Is one better than the other for my purposes of whacking on stuff or is it a matter of personal preference?
