Wait for the Laser Strike or get the Rowen H.E.S.T?

I tried reading to make sure there were no threads on this already. Ever since I got my first ESEE, I have been interested in the H.E.S.T. It looks damn cool, and has some great features on it, not to mention that it's made by ESEE and Rowen.

At first, I was disappointed when I saw that DPx Gear and ESEE had split...but...

So, Jeff and Mike say that they have a knife called the Laser Strike coming out and being introduced at the Shot Show coming up. Do I wait for this to be released without even seeing it, or do I get my hands on one of the original fixed H.E.S.T's before all of the Rowen ones are gone?

Do we know of any dimensions on the Laser Strike? If I had the money, I would get both, but that ain't the case here.
 
Well, that definitely helped.:D The Laser Strike looks good, but think I'm gonna try and get my hands on a HEST... And then, like the rest of the "fools" around here, will find something else that I need.

I'd skip the HEST and wait for the Laser Strike. But to be completely honest the LS MkII is going to be quite a while in the coming if I recall correctly. First I believe there is going to be a stainless 3 and perhaps even the 3/f.

The Laser Strike will be a Great Seller of the ESEE Line up IMO ..... Great Design & features ,I'll be getting 3 LS for sure upon release,it may retire my 4 .
 
the HEST is available now, at least until stock is depletedd. the HEST 2 will be shipping at some point, but no word yet on what features it may gain, steel it will be made from or who's gonna make it.

like the HEST 2, the Laser Strike ain't available yet. perhaps theyre will be more info on that released at SHOT, or perhaps it's already been leaked in the countdown thread and i'm just not up to speed.

a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, and i've seen more than a few products that have never made it to market.

not only are we still waiting for the HEST/F (any day now), but we're still waiting for the Izula folder and new packs, which have been in the works for a while. i don't usually wait for anything that's still in the "vapor ware" category,
 
Without Mall Ninjas, there wouldn't even be a knife industry. Just a handful of guys making good knives for the other handful of guys actually using them.

TTD, is there such a thing as a "retired" knife . . . :)
I say the same thing when I acquire a new handgun, & eventually something comes about & that "retired" handgun somehow finds it way back outdoors . . . That Laser Strike does look good, any idea how long the handle was on the old models, or what the dimensions are going to be on the new ones yet??

I would get the HEST now. Then when the LS comes out you may change what you want, or you may not. It really depends. ;)
 
Get the H.E.S.T i just got one and love it :)

And after that once the laser strike is out you can get this one too :D
 
heh, kinda like asking "do I want to get a new car, or have a bite of this apple?"

Two different beasts. Get 'em both, or just grab an Old Timer and a Tram...
