Hey all I emailed auntie to let her know I hadn't received the dbvuk yet in case usps ate it along with a few other knives ive ordered. It seems the terminal in Albany has problems getting packages with my name through on occasion. Usually I contact them with the tracking info and magically a few days later it finally finds its way to me. Been daydreaming all week about getting my next triangle box. I simply cant wait. anyone else with prior experience with usps and their kukri's arriving late?

also let me say that the other kukri's I have ordered so far get here in 2-3 days so im a bit worried going on 5 days with no sign... sorry to be a worry wart just so excited.

thank you very much. was hoping someone might know if I could get one. already emailed so now just time to be patient. not that ill have to wait long as Auntie Yangdu seems to always be on top of things.

Only once did I need to track a package, by the time I went online to track it, it was on a truck to my place for dropoff.

HINT - it helps to let auntie know what date she said she would send it. She always tells you in her confirmation email. That way she can find the tracking number for your package easier. Come to think of it, giving her your shipping name and address would probably help too.

Well crap, I'm gonna take my spidey senses into the shop for a tune up. I figured it would be there today for sure. I could feel it.

My feelings are rarely wrong, sometimes everything else is but never my feelings.

Sorry to disappoint bawanna. Still haven't heard back from auntie. Sure it's just that the holiday weekend is busy. Hopefully ill have it on Tuesday. Fingers crossed

Auntie has been extraordinarily busy, send her another email, she might've overlooked the first one in error.

I know Reno is really busy this weekend, auntie may not be able to get to your email before Tuesday, I doubt it, it'll probably be sooner, but do keep it in mind.

If auntie sent you an email stating that it went out, you can rest assured that it did, and it's the USPS that is being slow on the delivery.

It would be wise to follow up with USPS using the tracking number provided by auntie (when she answers your email", to ensure that they haven't "lost" it.

Well folks all just a big misunderstanding and the kukri went elsewhere. no big deal here. I had tried to cancel my order originally anyway but aunties computer fritzed. So now hoping we can just cancel and refund and have done with it. could use the money for the bills it was supposed to go towards anyways. Thanks all for your support. and I sincerely hope whomever got this kukri enjoys it greatly. please do post pics so we all can see. Auntie was going to send a KL but I just got two last week and don't think another is in order just yet. hope she gets my reply to cancel before sending anything. I answered her 10 minutes after the email was received. once again thanks to all for your help and sorry Auntie for the confusion all around.

I am sure that all will work out, and I am sure you'll be getting more khuks in the future, as the HIKV sets in.

Its important to track and to check if you don't get something timely. Almost always its on delivery end.

I was waiting and waiting for a triangular box and was getting mad when I looked out on the side porch and lo and behold, it was leaning against the wall and probably had been for some time. First and only time (in 20 years) that a delivery wasn't made to the driveway side door. Now I always check all possible places it could be left.

I also worry about somebody just stopping and stealing. Its pretty obvious when a package is just leaning against a door and only takes a few seconds to pull in, grab and go.

Starting to feel ignored by auntie. Sent three separate emails today in attempt to make it clear that I did not want a klvuk instead of the dbvuk I ordered. they are not the same style fit and finish and its quite plainly not what I want. At this juncture the problematic communication has started to bother me sincerely. I understand that all of us enjoy the products this company supplies, but I cannot say that I am currently happy with the situation. I have made my point very clear and evident. I am very tired of having to work so hard to simply straighten out a small issue. first I hear I am being shipped an order I cancelled within 15 minutes of placing so I pay through paypal then several days after supposed to receive the knife I have extreme difficulty getting an answer as to where it is./ then when I'm told I wont be getting it but will be substituted with something I did not order, and when I try to cancel the order I get no response. I emailed back 10 minutes after auntie sent me that message. I do not want another klvuk. I really am sorry if I seem a bit severe but this has been a disaster, and I don't think I am being unreasonable in expecting a response.

Personally I find the level of fit and finish and detail in dhan bahadur's work is far superior to Keshar lal's. The level of symmetry as well. Simply I only ordered to begin with to get what I thought personally would be a better example of a VUK.

On a side note I mean no offense to Keshar lal as functionally the klvuk's I received are great tools. they just don't have the same look as the dbvuk's

Edit: Spelling correction.

I am in direct mail so i am familiar with Post office procedures. Usps Priority mail is Not guaranteed but generally anything past 3 days is Most unusual but that might also depend on the time of day it was shipped ! Early morning shipments stand a MUCH better chance of meeting that 2-3 day "window" of delivery that they "claim"... Also if you are on a RR or "rural route" that will indeed make a difference because a Lot of those "mailmen" are contractors... Also, the Post Office is going through MAJOR changes because of their "Inept" business inabilities and very bad Business model so things sometimes get misplaced and also consider that a LOT of their Older, IE 'Good" workers were forced to retire... Yep the times they are a changeing and things are going to be ,well, not too great for a Long time.. I do direct mail for the Countryies largest Credit union and 5 years ago, we would send mail 5 days in advance to give the customer a week to respond.NOW we give them 7 days and still have to watch things VERY closely because we want our customers approval rating to be 95%... This is also with a report card from the POst office at near 98% which is extremely hard to get... Hang tough, get that tracking number and expect to wait a day or more ...
