It's on it's way. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow. It might not be a grail to a lot and I'm hoping it lives up to my expectations. Found by a fluke of luck a Hinderer XM-18 3" flipper with orange G10 new at a great retailer. Retailer is the problem. Killed me to pull the trigger given the price knowing what the direct price is. Like most I am not able to buy at the direct price so I am at the mercy of the retailers. At least this one didn't rape me as bad as others. I was surprised to see a new 3" version still in stock. Thought they were all sold by now. A 3" has not been produced for awhile.
I like a lot of the new designs out there this year, but most are 3 1/2" or greater and for me I think there just too big. To me a 3" blade seems perfect in size. Big enough to grab onto but yet not big enough to freak people out! I do love the way the new ZT0801 flips, but the size and design doesn't say timid. Even another knife liking coworker was like wow thats big! Everyone is different and everyone has an opinion. This is just my opinion.
If this is the almighty one I will have to sell off some of the collection to help offset and justify the cost. Has anyone ever started collecting and at some point said enough and settled for just one??? Is that possible??? There are so many cool different ones out there it's hard to just settle for one. Maybe just pick a couple of favorites and sell the rest??? I think I'm having withdrawals as I type!!! LOL
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.
