Tom says I'm still a long wait from my two on order, a 20th Anniversary and a Medium TNT.

Will I be disappointed with a Buck Mayo?

No.

I got one of the first, and only sold it because my number came up for my Mayo that was the same size. Otherwise I would still have it, and when I have enough money, might just get one again anyway.

hmm, I have a Buck Mayo, but if I had a couple real Mayo's on order I don't think I'd buy one.

nah, when you got the real thing coming, why bother with a poorman's mayo :) spend the money that you would have spent on the buck mayo calling tom everyday 3 times a day saying "is it done yet"

No. If you want the handmade knife, wait for it.

They are not comparable in quality, comfort or appearance.

However, if you are not going to use the real Mayo - then get the Buck.

If its going to be awhile before you get the real thing though, then get the Buck/Mayo. It will be the best thing out there to hold you over. That is exactly what it did for me, and it did it quite well.

I think that if you like Mayo's design from a utilitarian standpoint, it makes sense to get a Buck/Mayo as a user. Although the Buck/Mayo is a great knife to me, it will not compare with a top of the line custom. If you simply want a custom to hold you over until you get the Mayos, then get another, completely different custom.
