I want to buy a Sebi Woodie in Spiral Damascus steel (Large pref but small is ok!). How long is the waiting list likely to be if I order it from the Chris Reeve Site? Cheers!:)

I think the 2001's are sold out. You might have to order a 2002. I would say July or August 2002. I'm getting a 2001 small LH woody in about ten minutes but I was luck enough to find someone that already had it in stock. I waited 8 months for my 2000. Look at the bright side, you will have plenty of time to save your money. Get in touch with CRK for a definative answer and they might know of a dealer that has one in stock. Good luck!:)

It may be even longer...

When I called about ordering a small wood inlay, Bridget said that even the 2002 edition was presold and that I would have to order a 2003! So you may have more than enough time to save. I don't know if that applied to the damascus blades, as I was asking about bg42 blades.

Like Kal-El said, move if you want to get one within two years from the shop.

But if you are lucky the knife you want just might make it's way to you sooner :) I thought the odds of finding a large 2001 with ebony were slim, but thanks to Rick and Mike the chain remains unbroken

I have asked them if they will let me put a $200 deposit down and pay the rest when I get paid in 6 weeks (new job:mad: ). Fingers crossed!:) I realy want this knife:eek: BADLY:( !

As long as the knife is not already sold, I am sure you will be able to work something out with the Sadows. If you need some help with this transaction, send me an e-mail; I would be happy to assist!

It sounds like you may have it handled, but I wouldn't worry it seems like a siginificant percentage of wood sebenzas are reserved by dealers and released slowly but continously.

Good luck on your quest for the damascus sebenza at Arizona Custom knives. The redwood is a beatiful inlay and the blade speaks for itself. But the big question is, if you get it will you carry it?

I say carry it and enjoy it! :D Life is too short, carry your best and live life to the fullest. I carry all mine! :D

Thanks people! I hope you don't mind me saying this as I don't want to insult anyone, but I consider you all friends. You have alowed me to come here and treated me better than I deserved at times, you have helped me and offered advice. This post shows me how amazingly cool all of you are and a big thank you to jki who is helping me sort this deal out! Cheers! Oh and he has some rather nice knives as well... Ask him about them some time!

Scott, this is a knife I WILL carry! That is why they were made and that is just what I will do! It will get light work, and a lot of looking after, but when you consider CRK can make a knife like new for a reasonable price...what the heck! I will be dead before I wear 10% of my knife collection out. Life is too short for fussin and fighting or worrying about stuff like this. Another reason why I am signing up for Karate, respect for others and myself, fitness and the desire to deal with stress. I am unlucky in that I suffer from Psoriasis quite badly, I need to calm down and think more... sorry going of on a tangent now, rant over.

Yours with the greatest of respect,

Wayne

It sounds like you may have found yourself one General..i talked with Bridget the other day. I have 6 Woody's on order for 2002 and was told a Bronze Damascus may be as late as next June.

While the Bronzed Damascus certainly looks the part I was unhappy with the idea that is was not as durable or useable as the Spiral Damascus (I know both can rust and discoulour with ease? It is just acid etched right? Wheras the Spiral is 'proper Damascus? I don't really understand the difference, so somebody with a brain please help me out here!:D

General: The bronzed and blued damascus blades are highly polished prior to colorization. They have an ultra smooth surface, with no discernable texture from the different layers. This polish, along with the bronzing or bluing, makes for a striking blade finish that is quite different from the typical damascus. The acid-etched black and white damascus blades have the more "normal" damascus texture in which you can feel the layers. If your damascus blade will be a user, this finish is definitely the one to get. The bronzed and blued blades are really targeted for display.

I am happy to report that the General is locked in, thanks to our friends the Sadows, proprietors of AZCK. It is good to hear that this beauty will be carried and used, but with the respect that such a stunning piece deserves! I have a feeling that this won't be the last Reeve in the General's future. :D

Sorry chaps, it was sold already... A simple case of crossed wires = no knife for me. I am gutted, worse things happen in life but right now I can't think of one.:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I had my heart set on that knife and... not meant to be a guess... I feel sick.
