I made this knife several years ago at a customer's request. He had a nice, but broken Oosic and asked if I could use it for the handle. I split it, mortised it and then wrapped it with Japanese silk.

The Tsuba is heat colored titanium. Blade steel is A2, with a traditional double grind. Sheath is carbon fiber over Mahogany

Please feel free to comment on this piece!!!!

That's an impressive looking piece. It's cool that you were able to incorporate the customer's requested handle material. Thanks for giving us a peek at this one.

wow. are you still taking orders, RJ? I'm thinking of a double zero ground kwaiken but with cord wrapped woden tsuka, instead of just a bare cordwrapped tang. Is A2 superior to S30V?

what thickness stock you use there..Looks pretty heavy
Love the package..Id sleep safe with that piece displayed next to the bed

the carbon fiber on the scabbard is too cool....looks like one mean cutter....ryan

Knifemaking God? No thank you, please...

Stock thickness on that one was 1/4" thick. Beefy, but not clunky.

Beautiful sword. From the pic looks like it would feel good in the hand/s. It could be a trick of perspective, but it does look like it might be a bit light in the tip??
