I recently acquired a Waki. I had to ask the seller, what's the deal with the pommel? He said it was somewhat a mystery, and thought there may be some kind of coin to fit it ? He did think there was something being cooked up and maybe Eric Issacson had something up his sleeve however, nothing ever came of it. So anyone got any ideas? I was not a member when the Waki was released. What say you !

Well, you could get a second one, screw them together and have a 2 bladed sword Darth Maul style ;) :D

The pommel ? An unanswered question.......

Some said at the time it was for an attachment yet to built. Others said it was to use in the field as a rifle mount if you were desperate.

The first sounds more likely. Looks cool with a Rucki like that ! ;)

Well okay guy's. I guess its a mystery. I also believe it was something yet to be made. I was hoping Big E would let us in on it.

All I found was this on the SBG (Sword Buyer's Guide) forum - taken from a review. It doesn't help much....

The pommel is a rather odd looking deal. It looks like it has two ears or horns or something, each with a lanyard hole drilled through it. I spoke with the manager of the Swamp Rat company store and he told me there were plans for the weird looking pommel, but wouldn't say any more. I have no idea what their up to with it. They might come out with some kind of goofy little doodad to hold a challenge coin or something. There's just no telling. In any case, the pommel doesn't affect the functionality of this sword in my experience.

For me it is quite clear; when the sword is lifted to cut, with the tip pointing backwards and the opponent is too close, you use the pommel to hammer him on the forehead ...:)

Awesome knife:thumbup:
