I would like to own of these two but which one? I have concerns about the Rucki being more of a one hander might be less versatile? I 'd like to hear your opinions. Thanks.

That is a toss up for sure, I have both in my shop and they feel like totally different blades imho.

The Waki is balanced well, and lots of handle to play with, and that rear guard prevents the chance of slipping.

The Rucki has a shorter handle, but with enough room for two hands easily. Its a lot lighter and a whole lot pointier than the Rucki with only a little shorter blade.

Given the choice of which one I'd grab to back someone out of my house, I'd grab the Rucki.

I have them both,I love my waki but the Rucki, feels better in the hands and the blade is more slim lined, lighter and has an agressive point all in all Rucki get my vote, but buy them both, No Regrets here.:D

I only have a Rucki, I would say grab one now at straight from the shop prices, then take your time and find a Waki for your "right" price. That is my plan, as funds become available once I've gotten all that I want that's available from the shop, start picking up what I can from the "no longer available"/secondary market as it pops up. Plus you have a lot more choice in configuration when you get it from the shop. That's just my 2 cents...

Added: I do have to say it feels great in one or two hands, is super sharp and SUPER pointy, I can't wait to get it out and use it!

I ended up the opposite. I pre-ordered two Rucki's, and in the mean time found a user Waki with a sheath for a good price. It wasn't my first color choice, but the price was right. I'm pretty happy with it (convexed it last weekend), but I can't wait for my Rucki's. Unfortunately, I ordered what will probably be the last two color combos given my luck.

I took this pic this morning. I haven't had a chance to compare, & yeah, my swords are my only safe queens, but here's a comparison pic for ya!

No they do NOT! Not even close. They look like they would, & of course I had to check it out, but no. The round of the Rucki is just a bit bigger than the cutout in the Waki, So the function of that cutout remains a mystery. I've been waiting over a year for Eric to reveal it!

I have and use my Waki. Although I like it, I feel that the handle is too much for the length of the blade. It's full tang is strong, but heavy, so I find a two handed swing is awkward. I'm no swordsmith or Samuri, but I do have several bokken that I practice with.
IMHO, a short Waki style sword should be swung one handed, I can stab, block, etc. with two hands quite well. But, I have more reach, and can achieve more speed at the tip with a one handed swing.
Yes, I can swing the Waki with one hand, it's a bit heavy and hard on my elbow, depending on how hard I swing, and what I hit. I usually have to choke up a bit for a one handed swing, for say weeds or machete type work.
If you want a two handed sword, I'd say go full sized. I bet the Ruki has been made with the shorter handle for a good reason.

Use some zip ties. OR...... Duct tape, the must have for the zombie apocalypse

Tie some rope/ chain/ cord to each end and you got yourself some sword chucks!

Great idea

Potentialy lethal to for the user but I like where your head is at :D
