Has this been done? And if so, what were the results?
I know that it cuts through a full tree, not a small one either , in SRKW's video but, I am curious how it would fair in one slice through Tatami? If anyone knows, or has pics, or a video that would be great!

I can't speak for the Waki but I'll speak for my own experience as it should be similar.

I have two Banned full convexed AK-47s that have seen considerable tameshigiri practice. They fair very, very well. If you have trained in tameshigiri with traditional shoto then you would be impressed with the edge holding capability of a Waki (or AK) and the cleanness of your cuts.

But if you don't strip and reprofile the edge I can't imagine it would do terribly well, unless you have really good taisabaki.

This is all kind of depressing now that I have to sell my AKs, but damn they performed well.
