Hello!
I recently made a saya for my wakizashi and glued everything up. After a while a notice when ever I put the blade in the saya it wood make a noise like it was cutting something. With further investigation I saw that the tip of the wakizashi was cutting a groove into the saya causing it Crack and making it hard to put in. I can still put the blade in without trouble if I angle it right. I have filled the visible crack on the outside of the saya with wood filler. I have thought if sticking sandpaper down the saya to smoothen out the groove. What do you think I should do about this?

If you try to sand the inside of the saya it is very likely some grit will get lodged in the wood and cause scratches to the wakizashi.

When making a saya, the throat area and blade path must be shaped so the tp and edge never contact the wood as it goes in and out.

Since the tip cut through the saya, I think it is best to make a new one.

The nicer the waki, the better this advice. Make a new one.
