Ha the urge to forge a wak blade to play with last week, and had neither the time nor inclination to do full mountings: 1080 and stabilized 550 hilt, differential tempered, airfoiled blade with cut fullers. This was fun. About six hours in it not counting epoxy cure time.
Going to do an oak saya with matching 550 turks head bindings when I get back from the Saratoga show.

Thanks! I do all my Japanese style stuff in that modified shobu pattern-they cut like mad.
This is the only cut I've done with it-hadn't truly sharpened it, just the geometry and what edge the 600 grit greaseless on a felt wheel left. Target is a single sheet of rolled printer paper:
