I was looking at some Marlin 22's last night, and saw that Wal Mart has a wide selection of the Old Timer line. They also have lots of tactical Schrades available, at well below MSRP, most aren't even over ten bucks. That's at most of the Wal Marts along the Mason Dixon line. I might get a little stockman tonight for my father, his b-day is coming up. Most of them are well priced too, I asked to handle a couple, and they are stamped MADE IN USA, so they're safe :D ! Every body bashes Wally World, I used to work there, I know it's a hole in the earth, but you can find some good deals there, and sometimes some helpful employees.

Wal Mart here sold out very quickly, and at regular price. K-Mart has a couple of one model left, but they're not discounting them either. Smoky Mountain Knife Works is the only place I've seen them discounted.

Good Find!

Like Bob says, Wal-Mart is very hit or miss. All the stores in my city are long gone of any Schrade knives. The sporting goods manager in my nearest Wally World said all the nicer Old Timers and Uncle Henry's sold out long before Wal-Mart started discounting them. I think the out of the way stores might still have a few, but the problem is most of them are REALLY OUT OF THE WAY! :(

I live in SW Tennessee and our Schrade-Marts have been sold out for quite a while. One store had one of the last Sharpfingers, stainless, and I bought it at a discount. The only other one I have seen was one of the cheap black plastic folders for $7 and I passed on it. There IS a complete set of 2003 DU knives at a local lumber yard. I'll snatch them this spring if they are still there.

In Michigan, Meijer has quite a few. Some are discounted and some are not but they still have them in stock.

Sears also seems to keep getting them in.

I was mistreated when I worked as a manager there, I still have friends in management and associates who are mistreated there, I know drivers who have been mistreated. I've watched managers who I had mucho respect for bend over backwards for sniveling top tier executives. I've seen it all, man, and I STILL SHOP THERE BECAUSE THE PRICES ARE SO DANG CHEAP! I've got some stock in the company too, so that is an incentive. I believe in throwing the small time dealer some cash, the mom and pop store, whether it is a mom and pop grocery store, or a mom and pop gun shop. However, if I can spend the least amount of cash for the same top flight product, I will. Now, I won't buy produce, meat or baked goods from Wal Mart, I've seen some real bad things going on that I won't name. I will buy canned goods and cereal etc. I will buy clothes from Wal Mart, they make for great outdoors clothes, gym clothes and working outside clothes, and I keep a spare change of WalMart clothes in my gym bag. I will say this, when I was an associate and I had first started at Wally World, my manager told me that we were hoping to drive everyone else out of business and then jack the prices back up. At the one I used to work at, it almost happened. There is a local grocery store, WM kicked out the ancient KMart, there is a Giant that is taking all of WM's fresh goods customers, and there are several hobby shops, including a Nascar store, and a small farmers market knife shop, where I get my knives. Several years ago, though, WM was the only game in town! I may come off as cheap, I call it money wise. Guess what, I got the last of WM's Schrade by the way, one is going to be a gift for my pop, and the others are going to be gifts for my brother, his first real knife, and some set aside for me. The guy behind the counter kept telling me that I should buy the Schrade tacticals, that Schrade went out of business and that I should buy them before someone else does. :D I just smiled and kept on walkin'!

well by thunder i hapen to feel you are one of thoes makeing sense concerning WW ... and you do even being a past employee...what a loss for them!
hay the way i feel any one can offer you a price but you only become a hoe if u accept and perform for their lusting makeing money sastafation.

naw i, as like you likely do, dont blame WW, but rather blame the knife makers for shrivleing down and chepening them selves in a effort to get WW busness.
they are then no diffrent then street walkers advertiseing in the cheeping of their product. some even commit iligal acts like marking foren steel as USA in the attempt to get busness sales! yep if you see AST-34 it is not americian steel ! That is right! check it out..spect shets in japinese!
WOW= shades of things that make you go hummmm...
