Just got this Walden Knife Co. Jack but it has a cracked main spring (you can see how the main spring drops down in the first pic) . Do you think it's worth fixing? It has no sentimental value but it is an overall decent knife. I've never sent a knife out for repair so I'm in unfamiliar waters. Would love to hear opinions.
Thanks.....Bruno

Do you think it's worth fixing? Not if you cannot do it yourself. Blades are pretty worn. Not worth the cost of fixing.

I don't know how much it cost you, what it would cost to fix it, whether it would be worth more repaired than original, or how much you love it, so I can't say if it's worth fixing. If Walden is the one that got bought by EC Simmonds in 1903, this knife is probably at least that old.
I like Brownshoe's answer. Most of the knives we get our hands on are not the crown jewels, so we can afford to tinker with them.

I contacted the seller and it's going back for a refund. I paid less than 15 bucks but what good is a knife that can't be used? Seller didn't know the mainspring was cracked. Thought it was just a weak spring.
Thanks for the replies.
