Out of curiosity I searched on Schrade at Smokey Mountain Knife Works. I found this very ominous listing, as well as a few others that are similar.

Are these really made in the USA? To me, the shape of the spey blade screams made in China, but the text description is rather ambiguous and doesn't mention Taylor. The blade etching does seem to indicate a Taylor knife however.

I've been carrying Schrade slip-joints since I was seven years old, about thirty years. Things like this knife really make me cringe.

Thank you for the information Luis. Made by Bear in the good ol' US of A. At least they're made here, but I'm thinking I'd rather buy a Camillus. Thanks again Luis!

I totally understand your sentiments about both the "Chinese cringe" and Camillus, another fine group of New York cutlers with a long history. They have, by the way, begun making a line of knives modeled after some Old Timers, their Gran'Pa line. So far, there are a 5" lockback, one, two and three blade slipjoints, and their rendition of the 152OT sharpfinger, the GP152B. I have one of those, and it is a well made knife with even heavier spine that the Schrade, and a slightly changed choil. They occasionally show up on Ebay and you can see them here:
