Okay so i have my grandfathers old Walden Schrade 881. It is in horrible condition. The scales have chipped and they are coming loose. One of the bolsters has come loose and spins around..since the scales are so worn there's enough room to spin. The main blade has been sharpened so much that the blade curves immediately inwards. So the knife has little value if any at all. What i want to know is, how can i take this knife apart? I want to clean the years of lint that have built on it so it will look somewhat better! (not that it could look much better) is there any way that i could get a new main blade for this knife? and possibly new scales or shouls i leave i in its original state? (I believe the ones that are on the knife are yellow derlin)
Also was this a good knife when it came out-top of the line?
