I started a thread like this near two years ago:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-de-stress-considering-going-on-a-walk-a-bout
I just re-discovered this little "sub-hobby"... its a neat way to try out gear for bigger adventures. I volunteer with a SAR team and going on long suburban walks can really shake out new gear before the "big one" hits. It also helps to clear my head (not that there is all that much to begin with).
Let's here about your walking adventures: urban, suburban, woodland or otherwise!
