What good does that do when you're describing a knife for sale?
Walk and talk?
Tell me it opens and closes smoothly or easily or hard. Tell me it's so sharp it'll shave the goobers off a gnat. Tell me it'll outlast me.
Walk and talk?

This ^

The force required and the snap to get the blade to a half stop, then to open, sometimes with additional stops. The walk and talk on Manly slip joints is very distinctive, for example.

As mentioned, it's a slip joint term. I like how CollectorKnives lists their rating of the "pull" as I find that information very helpful in deciding if I want to buy a better slip joint. The baseline for me is a 111mm Vic SAK.

Refers to the feel and sound of the opening and closing.
And to this day I am ALWAYS pleased by my many SAKs ! I never oil 'em, just use 'em (they never get wet though and spend most of the time in pouches not my linty pocket) . . . anyway they pretty much ALL sound so cool and well made when they shut. Not an over done snap like a mouse trap, not a sluggish "whaaaaaaaaaahhhht". The SAKs sound really well made and consistent and reliable (stays tightly shut) . . . because they are all of that. ;)

Why would you want that ?
I have had some slip joints, brand new from the factory, that don't have any snap when they reach the fully closed position . . . and you know what ? . . . they would hardly stay open. The lack of snap was a sign that there wasn't enough spring tension on the blade and when open it was somewhat dangerous to use because there just was not enough spring tension to "lock" the blade open.
A little "Talk" is a good sign.
As far as "Walk" some people tend to like half stops and really firm pull. I can do with out much of that.

Thanks you all. Whoever said you can't teach an old hillbilly something new, evidently ain't seen this place. I now see y'alls point. I thought walk and talk was just fluff and chatter. Thank you my friends.
Charlie Mike, I agree with SpySmasher, you one sick puppy. Nothing I hate anymore than turning a fingernail over backwards while opening a stiff knife.
Too much walk?
