Walk and Talk.

Ok, so now I own 4 nice little slipjoints, I lined them up the other night and looked expectantly at them.

What is this walk and talk, and why do none of my knives do it?

(Yes, I'd love to know what walk and talk means)
 
If yours don't walk and talk, they are defective :D

The walk pertains to the way the blades open and close, and the talk would be any snapping on opening and closing.

I'm sure there are more detailed ways to explain it, but that about sums it up.
 
Walk is the smooth opening and closing of the blades, and talk is the solid snap when they are opened and closed.

Hence, when a knife opens and closes smoothly and snaps into position with an audible click, it is said to walk and talk.
 
Makes perfect sense...it would appear though that the walk and talk is somewhat individual between knives... none better than the other, just different.
 
Most slip joints have walk and talk. The larger GEC offerings have "Whack" and "Thwock" (stiff springs, you know).:cool:

I explained 'Walk and Talk' to my thirteen year old Hebrew (and English) speaking daughter.

Ahhhh...The simple clarity and elegance of a child's reasoning...:D
 
I believe the opposite of walk & talk is "lazy".
Example - "The blade on that pocket knife is as lazy as Thomason".
 
I always wonder what was walk and talk... My Sodbuster is definately a lazyone who talks loudly... A perfect companion to me ^^

But I shall thank everyone who cleared this matter to those of us who do not knew this ^^
