Walk in the park

We picked up a new to us German Shorthaired Pointer two months ago. She's got lots of energy and is getting us out of the house and walking her - even on days when the humidity is off the charts.

We're lucky to live near an "off-leash park" that doesn't look all that much like a park. On days like today you hardly see anybody and can almost pretend it's your own place.

It's got nice trails...

Good views...

And a place for the dog to cool down after running 'til her tongue is dragging the ground...

And the occasional spot begging for the old BK16 to be pulled out...

Looks like fun man, always good to get out.

It was good to get out. It's been the kind of week when a walk in the woods served to soothe body, mind and soul well.

I did find myself thinking about your cool little stove and wondering what the city regulations are on small, contained fires.

The Emberlit is awesome. I love that little stove. My current fav. Nice and light, very packable, holds a good amount of weight, and you don't have to take fuel with ya.

I need to get an Emberlit. Do you have the stainless steel one or the titanium one? I've been wondering if the titanium is really worth the extra for not a huge reduction in weight.

I ordered the SS, but received the Ti. I purchased the SS because for the main thing, half the price, the weight isn't THAT much more, but also because I've read that it doesn't warp as much, and retains it's "tightness". My Ti definitely warped, and while it still performs flawlessly, it does go together looser now.

Thanks for the info. I definitely need to add one of these to my kit. Very useful to have a nice compact stove that you don't have to carry fuel for on your person.

This is a "park"? That's really not giving it enough credit. Looks like a great place to get out with your canine.

It is unique among my experience of city parks. It certainly is the only one like it in our town which has lots of more normal parks. We do love it.

The find of the day - cactus in bloom.

Your pup looks like it's having a blast!
Looks like a fun little area to get lost in and enjoy the area around you.
Thanks for sharing!
