Some old photos of a walk on the farm with some knives.

K-Way backpack with warm clothes. 3-4L of extra water and Emergency Kitt, fire starters, flashlight etc.

great photos! whats the temps there now?

On the farm it is high 20 - low 30 *C. But I am in Cape Town now so its 23 without the wind factor.

Do you walk with the knives in your pockets - or just open and one in each hand? ;)

TF

Thats why the Benchmade has a lanyard....open and in my mouth! :D I usually have the benchmade right/left cargo pocket, Large EXK in right pocket, Sebenza in left hip sheath, Small Burger in sheath on my back pack strap close to my chest (easiest one to access) with a mora and other (cheap) fix blade in the back pack as well as my Swiss Tool.

I still need a decent fixed blade though. A RC 3 or 4 in the distant future for me. On a hard hike etc I will just have the swiss tool, mora (ideally a RC3) and any of my folders shown.

As for the frog:

They will usually leave the egg if someone is close by etc. to attract the attention away from the egg. This is the first time I have found an egg like this in the open without a mother or farther close by. Usually they are in a group and they huddle together. Safety in numbers. I did not touch it as I feel it is not my place to and I was in no survival or danger situation.

Those are some great photos. Do you get to see alot of wildlife there?

I am fortunate enough that this is a hunting farm ,that belongs to my GF uncle, so there are a lot of wildlife. Not the big 5, but a lot of bucks including Eland, Impala, Nyala, Blesbok (dont know the English name for that buck), Zebra, Giraffe, jackal, worthogs, Kudu, Blou wilde beeste (Afrikaans name again). wild ostrich, Tsessebe and those are the larger game. I am also fascinated in smaller insects and reptiles. Plenty of snakes etc.

I do some mundane chores on the farm such as water management etc since I am studying environmental Management so it gives me time to practice also.

My family had a farm in the Kalahari. But was recently sold. I still have some photos. Will see if I cant find them....found them....The thing with Kalahari farms are the LONG distances. Shots are taken 500m away sometimes so one needs a great camera for the photos that I do not have. Sometimes one gets lucky.

That is so amazing with the animals and land, looked like a great time there at the fire.

Thank you for taking the time and sharing some pictures.
