Well, the cd player went up in my car, so I got a few old cassette tapes at the flea market, until I get a new cd player. One of these albums was a Johnny Cash greatest hits. On the way home, I decided to rent Walk the Line.

Great movie, very well done. I've never been a big fan of Joaquin Phoenix or Reese Witherspoon, but they did a great job. They sang the songs in the movie, it wasn't voice overs from Cash and Carter-Cash. Witherspoon even looked hot as a brunette.

Good film indeed, but I don't know how biased I am because of being interested of the theme (and how it would be or not for someone who isn't).

Crazy heart is on my watchlist, have you seen it?

I enjoyed the movie too. Not fantastic, but pretty good.

Keep an eye out for a similarly titled film, I Walk the Line. Gregory Peck as a small-town sheriff who falls for a moonshiner's daughter. Great story, with Johnny Cash music throughout. Last time I checked, it was not available at Netflix. :(

Great movie. What is funny is that my kids love listening to the CD. Boy named Sue is their favorite.

I haven't seen Walk the Line yet. I've always been kinda scared to, since I'm a huge Johnny fan and didn't want to be disappointed. The girlfriend says it's good, and I trust her opinion on matters of film and literature. According to her, the man himself gave the movie his stamp of approval, which means it must be OK.

"Walk The Line" is one of my all-time favorite movies. It is very well acted, and Reese is hot in that movie.

I love the movie, but did anyone else feel like joquin played Johnny as a whiner?

He didn't portray him as a whiner, but not as tough as you'd think the Man In Black would be. I think that's what the movie was about. Him succumbing to his inner demons, the love of his life pulling him up out of the depths, and how tough he was to "walk the line".

Yep, I read that Johnny and June both gave their blessings to Joaquin and Reese for the movie. Don't know if they saw a rough cut or not, not sure how much was completed before they died.
