very cool pics. looks like a nice day out for a hike. I have a FPR 16 & as tempting as it is to use it, i think i'm going to get another first.
 
Thanks for the kind words. I really enjoy using the 16, it's one of the best production knives I've used. As Moose has said though, the scales can get pretty slick when wet. It was in the mid 80's with a lot of humidity so I was sweating pretty good. I have some Saint Micarta grips on the way though, but I plan on doing some sanding or stippling on the stock scales to make them grippier.

I don't remember which model pack that is but it's a Gerber that I got on closeout from Knifecenter for $20. It's great for hot dayhikes, it has a 100 oz. bladder, plus room for 2 more water bottles if needed.
 
As far as the slipperiness goes, Rustoleum sells a truck bed liner spray, That is producing a rougher finish that is not too rough. And it stay on real good to.
