Hi, buddies. Sorry for being off for some time.
As I've lost job since this June, I cannot go out to the field while working hard to start up my own business.
Here's some shots of creatures I've found around my house.
Hope you enjoy them..

Graphium sarpedon wing.

A gecko, found in my bathroom.

A bird nest found by my wife in the guarden. This nest should have belonged to Zosterops Japonicus (Japanese whiete eye)

One night, when I was doing a large amount of computation, this guy (Rhacophorus schlegelii)
jumped onto the outside window of the living room. Sized as long as 3 inches.
Generally, this type of frog is no larger than one inch.

In another night, this lady rushed onto the same window with sound of "BANG!".
A female of rhinoceros beetle (Trypoxylus dichotomus septentrionalis).

And lastly, Mycetozoa . I could find several different spices of mycetozoae in
backyard woods. I'm not very familiar with them but they are so amazing.
They can build a complicated and optimized network connecting multiple sites with food.
They also can do clever periodic prediction (e.g. periodic weather change).
Really amazing creature.

Good to see you around Fujita. I always look forward to your photos, and these are very nice as always. It must be cool to have "pet" tree frogs, I have a friend who has some that stay in the flowers and bushes on his front walk.

Sorry to hear about the job loss, does that mean you aren't stuck on that dreadful train every day now?

Thank you for your words, Mist.
As you said I'm not taking that infamous deadly train anymore, which is really a good thing!

Wonderful photos!

That's a huge beetle! Good thing she didn't break your window :)

Thanks for posting

fujita yuji, hola

I hope your business comes good.

Geckos are always great. I'm sure mah woman would have them on the list if she could. I've just had to swerve her away from keeping chameleons – bit more work than the bearded dragons she had.

I'll trade you a rhinoceros beetle for one of these. Haven't bothered to look up what they are but rain sure brings them on. They're very blue underneath, blue bottle fly blue.

Cool pics. The Rhinoceros beetle is something I hope to never see around.. I know a ton of people who would freak out just from a picture of it. ;)

Good luck with work and thanks for the lovely photos.

When I lived in Japan I had a few cockroaches in my apartment, so I bought some of those sticky traps and a "Goki Buri" smoke bomb.

I opened the window, set off the smoke bomb and went fishing for the day.

After a good day of catching carp I went home, opened my apartment door and was confronted with this beast!

I caught him using a piece of card and a glass, then released him in the bushes outside. I'd never had to deal with a spider as big as that before, it probably ate the cockroaches so I would've left it in my apartment, but I knew my girlfriend would freak out!

Thanks guys for your kind words. I do appreciate.
Also I'm happy to see you enjoyed my shots.

baldtaco-II, that beetle is cool, and your photo is very well taken, sharp enough to see each of it's hair!
We have similar beetles also in Japan. Here's one I took two years ago

Not know exact name, though.

Hi, Yorkshire Boy. This is what we have in our house to exterminate roaches.

Heteropoda venatoria(Brown huntsman spider) is a great hunter of roaches and other critters.
They do no harm to humans (no bites or spreading diseases).

Fujita-san,

Concerning your job loss. I have seen you work on knives and many other things. You are intelligent, have great attention to detail, and work hard.

I think your new business will be great. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I know I am a world away - but maybe there is something I can send! ;)

Hello again Fujita.

Its good to hear from you again as well as see your wonderful pics! Good luck with all your endeavors.

Hi Fujita,

Nice pics, I envy those that can captivate.. I'd like to take a class someday..or two..

are the geckos in the house counted an 'honor' in Japan like they are in Hawaii?

Thanks, guys for your encouragement.
Also I'm happy to see you love those small creatures.

It's the same as your place, TheLastDaze.
geckos are called やもり pronounced Yamori in Japanese, which is then re-interpreted as
the family of guard as 屋守 .

Thanks for posting the pics,I really like seeing the flora and fauna of other countries.(Well, other than my own I mean :)).
