Possible spoilers for season 3.

I don't have cable, so I just watched the first episode on AMC's website. Nice opening, kept up pace throughout the entire movie, it was good to get to the prison. They spent too long on the farm, I know they couldn't have jumped right into the prison in the middle of season 2. I'm just not sure how much they can cram of the prison storyline into one season. The TV show diverges greatly from the comics, especially with the addition of the characters T-DOG, Merle and Darryl. This past episode, Herschel was bitten in the leg by a zombie, same as Dale was in the comic at the prison. Both characters legs were cut off in an attempt to stave off the virus. However, Dale did fine, up until the last section I read, after the prison was overrun in the comics. In the TV series, Dale was ripped apart by the swamp walker. Will Herschel survive? No idea. It was also neat to find the convicts, like in the comics. Wonder which one will turn out to be the serial killer. Guessing Herschels youngest daughter will fall victim?

In the comic series, Rick's small axe gets almost as much time as he does. In the tv series, we got to see it again. Merle cut his own hand off to escape the zombies, and in previews we saw him with a machete hand. Is he the one that cuts off Ricks hand?

Waiting to see the Governor, think this season will be the best so far.

I read recently that the story line may change slightly from the comic in the aspect that Rick will not lose his hand. The role of The Governor varies greatly from the comic version in appearance but not so much in his cruelty.

I was thinking that Merle might take Rick's hand in retaliation for what he had to do to survive. It looks like a good season is ahead.

The Governor on the tv show looks more believable than the one in the comic.
