My garden is what keeps me sane if I don't have time to get to the woods I tinker in the garden. After my 1962 gravely died in 2008 about the same time my job went away. with no job in sight I sold it , and put up with a reartine tiller. It started needing work last year and broke again this year . I have 3+ years on the new job and it is as secure as you can get now days,I decided to get myself another machine I could depend on.They stopped making gravely's in 2003 there is now nothing American made that fit what I wanted . So after much research I settled on an Italian made Grillo. the importer is an hour from my house and the dealerships are doubling yearly
This is not just a tiller there are nearly 40 attachments available for it most powered by a pto just like a 4 wheel tractor no belts or chains any where all gear drive
I have the power unit tiller attachment, hiller that hooks to the tiller to make raised rows and the hitch to modify a regular cart you pull behind a riding mower to a ride on cart for the power unit. I have a mowerdeck on order when they get back in stock
You can read more about them here>>>>> http://earthtoolsbcs.com/

Picture I scarfed off the web of the same tractor as mine with a mower deck and yes the handles does a 180

These things can get in small areas or on slopes to mow or till that a 4 wheel tractor could not begin to work

I've done a little work with a monster 700 lb Gravely even helping my neighbor get it out of his pond [it was his machine !] when he slipped on wet grass and the machine kept going !
That Grillo seems to be a little light for real man's work . LOL

I used a gravely for years they where designed and built 20 miles from where I grew up Any gravely 2 wheeler in decent shape they now think is gold, gravely's actually weighed #400 this weighs #220 and it is easy to get to #400 with wheel weights it has better ground clearance and better speeds than a gravely . I loved my old gravely but as much as it pains me to admit it this is a better machine
The last gravely walking tractors sold in 2004 in about the same horse power were twice as much with out wheels and tires

Nice unit Roy. I saw your post over at TBN. I have also been considering purchasing a 2 wheeler to mow some of the steeper slopes on my property. Why did you choose to go with the Grillo over a BCS?

It comes down to I could get more tractor for my money in a grillo . I wanted a tiller and mower deck I had the money for a bcs 722 which will run a twenty in. tiller and a 22 in. mower the 722 does not have a differential so it would a bear to turn mowing.Or , For around $100 more by the time my mower gets here I got the grillo 85d locking differential 2 more horsepower, bigger wheels, 22 inch tiller (it will run a 27" tiller) and a 28 inch mower. The 85D with the 10 horse kohler comes with the bigger wheels than the honda powered one
The companies work together for around twenty years . After much research I decided there isn't much difference in quality and usabilty . Grillo has been imported since 2005 bcs since the 70's, grillo doesn't have the distribution network or name reconition bcs has . Earthtools is the biggest bcs dealer in the U.S. and the importer for grillo is the closest dealer for either to me.

Funny, the mear mention of the word gravely made me shutter a bit, brought back memories of being shaken near to death behind a mower version in the early 80's...on second thought, some of those memories arn't so bad...
