Hi all, today I’m walking whit my SWC Woodlore, I don’t know if you consider this knife a “traditional knife”, in my opinion is a “true classic”, at least

Hiking whit this knife at the belt is a pleasure, I like so much the stag handles and the general shape of the Woodlore

The handle is a piece of art, in terms of comfort and ergonomics, the “Coca-Cola bottle shape” is absolutely great

I need for a walking stick

The scandi grind is the best for several task and the knife is razor sharp, anyway the blade thickness of 4,0 mm is a hair too much for my taste, a 3,5 mm thickness should be better. All in all a wonderful knife, at least IMHO.

Ciao,
Alfredo

I really like the looks of that one. The handle does look exceptionally comfortable (thanks for all the different angles), and for once "non-burly" stag seems an apt choice.

Great pictures and write-up, yet again.

Aw man, I just traded my Kevin Estela designed, Gossman Knives Polaris, with a convex grind similar to your knife. I bought it with A2 tool steel and osage orange scales. Very comfortable knife to use.

That one looks like a good woods knife.

The Woodlore is a beautifully designed knife. It sure is good looking as well. Thanks for another fine walk, Alfredo. I still remember you comments that no body else cares to go on a walk with you and watch your knife trials. You not alone my friend, eyes glaze over here if I even say the word....knife:D

Thanks to all of you. About this knife, I like the 99% of it, I just don't like the thickness (4,0 mm), which for me is a bit too much.
I feel not alone in my hiking, both because of the knife that I always carry whit me, and thinking at the next "conversation" on this forum whit you guys :-) Ciao!

I used to know Ray Mears Alfredo. I remember when he was called Raymond and lived with his mum! ;)

This is one of my all time favorite designs. It helps it was made popular by one of the bushcrafters I respect the most..

Stag handles... Brilliant.

When the first Alan Wood knives were made, only RM had a stag-handled one. Then a few more were made for the Woodlore instructors. A nice thread as always Alfredo :)

I could watch Ray Mears videos all day..and do sometimes. Kinda what I saw in Alfredo's threads. Very interesting you knew him as a young man Jack!

Small world isn't it:D

Thanks guys!
I like Mr. Mears documentaries, he seems to me one of the best of the bunch. About his knife, the Woodlore, I like his simplicity, effectiveness, versatility. I have a good amount of blades, both fixed and folders, but if I had to choose "one and only one" maybe the Woodlore is that the come to my mind sooner, because it's what I call a 360° knife.
I'll introduce you soon more of my favorites knives, hope not to boiring you mates!
Have a good day guys!!
