Past week we had a huge amount of rain here, look how the water digged out this track

Today I’m walking whit my Victorinox Forester One Hand, here next to my Glycine Lagunare 1000 (leather strap made by myself :)

This model has basically the same tools of the Soldier 08, except for the Philips screwdriver, in fact here there is the corkscrew

The flat screwdriver/cap lifter is locked when open…

…and the blade too

Looking at the wood saw, it’s noticeable how smart is the wider angle between the saw and the handle, to help the motion of the hand when sawing

A nice small feature, the key ring, so I’m sure I’ll not lose the knife

The handle is wide enough to be comfortable in the hand, also for heavy tasks, good job on the rounded surfaces too

A missed feature, where is the hole for the needle? Something to be improved, IMHO

The handles of this knife are really comfortable, and grippy, also due to the soft plastics inserts

The Forester in use.
As usual - speaking about Victorinox - the wood saw performs great

The blade is really sharp, and has a great cutting efficiency

The Forester in hand

Some more pics of my leather strap (I’m so proud of it, is my first!)

Ciao,
Alfredo

Great pictures!!!

I carry the One Hand Trekker everyday...1 for work and a newer one the rest of the time.
I was disappointed that the tweezers and tooth pick was left out of the new version as I really like the red handles.
You can add the small grey handled screw driver to the cork screw for tightening eye glasses and such.
A thread hole in the awl/reamer would be handy as well.

Your watch and hand made band are beautiful, now I have another manufacturer to look at.

Beautiful as always Alfredo!

Thanks for taking us along on your stroll with the photos you posted, and very nice work on the watch strap.

It ticks me off that the forrester lacks the toothpick and tweezers, or that you can't get the corkscrew on the trekker. I wanted the T&T with a corkscrew set up, but ended up with the trekker, and a fireman (its thicker than i want) and at some point will just break down and get the forrester and swap grips. If I could have found grips for sale I would have just picked up the forrester to begin with. Those swiss boys love taking my money.

Good pictures by the way. Overall I like those one hand swiss knives.

I'm sending an old OHT to a modder to see what he can do...he's never work on that size before.
Opens all new spending possibilities.

I'd like a OHT with a non-serrated main blade and the gutting blade from a Hunter.

Alfredo, thanks for the review! The Forester Onehand has nearly the same tools as the knife which is nowadays used at the german army knife. (It has now corkscrew - but a philips screwdriver).

I made mine another grind and removed the serrations. Here´s a pic with the GAK (german army knife - old version)

Nice tools - really :)

Your review are always worth reading :)

Beautiful photos,Alfredo.

Congrats on your first strap. It looks great and the watch is a beauty as well.

Love the Forrester and carry mine quite a bit.

Thanks!

@Hummpa: yours is the Swiss Army Knife 08 I guess. Interesting modification of the blade my friend.

Alfredo... Yes - mine is the Soldatenmesser 08 (Swiss Army Knife 08). I´m left handed so I couldn´t control cutting on that knife; it was just sharpened on one side and I didn´t like the serrations. So I added a flatgrind and removed the serrations... Here we are! Thank you for the nice replie :)

I like the knife but I'm the love with the watch band:D Great pictures as always, Alfredo....in Eden

I was looking through 111mm sak mods and saw that at least on the gak, the scales are hollowed out for the T&T but just need the ends filed off to gain access.

anyone with a forrester care to pop off a scale and check?

I'd much prefer a corkscrew on my trekker too. that backlayer phillips is rather limited.

They are not hollowed out. You can do it, but there is nothing inside the handle from keeping the T&T from moving side to side in the handle. It is totally hollow. The slot in the OHT is built up to help prevent the T&T from falling out. Not so in the Forrester type handles.

I have the Forrester. Not the one hand. I don't mind the corkscrew. I use the tip of the can opener for phillips head screws. I modded mine with a firesteel notch and filed the spine for striking firesteels. Now it's my kind of forrester. I switched the scales back to the high vis originals for woods walking. I wish there were more orange, yellow and red options on the handles of the 111mm lockblades. The OHT is awesome, but the handle is black and I still have had cases where I've had to shullfe through leaves trying to find were I set the damn thing down. Great post! Thanks for the review and nice watch.

Great pictures and good reveiw. How do the serrations work? I am thinking about buying a OHT and am thinking about trying the serrated blade. I am usally not a fan of serrations, but bought a spartan with serration and it cuts like crazy. I stropped it on a leather strop and you have to be careful!
