Sitting at my desk paying bills, bidding work, gets pretty boring. Especially when you have to talk to idiots about the job, so I decorated the walls a bit so I can get my mind back into focus. :)

Very nicely done! nice knives too!

I just got done hanging my entire half dozen kukris in the bedroom. (to be "Feng Shui correct, if one displays weapons, they're are best displayed in teh "fame" section sayeth the spouse) So, they all hang there in my fame section, also right beside my bed, which since they're technically blessed objects, oughta keep the haints away.

Mot importantly though, they're within convenient reach should something go bump in the night and I for some reason decide to bypass my 870 or my wife's 1911. :D They also give me piece of mind during earthquakes. It's always nice to know that if my log home falls down around me, and I miraculously survive, I can try to chop my way out. To that purpose, I guess I could hang a chainsaw in the same area, but it may be somewhat lacking in most folks' eyes of good decor.

Might do it anyways, hell I personally think chicken and cow pictures make much worse decor.... :D

But...I digress....very nice pics.

I think the "lint" might be reflection of the light from the oil on the blades, Bruise.

If you're using oil, eventually there will be a lot of lint and dust stuck to the blade. Car wax might be a good alternative to oil for the hanging khuks because it's dry.

Bruise, won't that dull the sheen on the blade? Or do you put it on and then carefully rub it off?

I think you might just have something there! Let's get a patnet for khukuri preservative. :D

Nope. It's like waxing chrome. After it dries you buff it off with a cloth.

I gooped a big dollup of wax on a blade and left it to dry once. It trapped moisture under the blob of goop and discolored the blade. :( All the more reason to wipe it off.

Sams? What are the knives in the shadow box too the left of the khuks? ;)
Got a better pic? :D

Nice! Only the second Bone BGRS I have ever seen. (I have the first and had to work for it! :) )

For the blades, I use some stuff I got on the AG Russell web site called Rust Free. Put one drop on each side of the blade and rub it smooth with your finger. Covers very well and dries leaving a protective coating.

Regards,

Norm

I think one of my New Mexico compatriots ordered one of the first bone BGRS. I should be able to come up with the name, but can't seem to. Dang memory.

Anyway, knives are great, but some of the other accessories are bit tougher to come by. Thanks for that.
