I appreciate the positive comments guys.
Nice. Too bad we have earthquakes here. The brick wall wouldn't be a good idea either haha.
Definitely no earthquake risk here though I can't imagine there would be much damage to the knives, just an annoyance. A serious tornado could be a problem though.
I would love to see it. I read some stuff that said the off-gassing of finished wood could be harmful for steel, so I went with metal, but I doubt its really anything to worry about in an open air system.
I started from the wall but the wall for a long time run out ...
Your collection is absolutely amazing. Completely overwhelming. I appreciate you sharing it.
Is is a good idea to place the knife edge directly on the steel hooks? Would it be better to turn them upside down?
Anyway, great collection!!
I was afraid someone would still think the knives edges were on metal. Please look closely at the second picture. All of the knives sit on a very thick heat shrink tubing that is much softer than the knives. It is clear so it's easy to miss.
I chuckled when I read the words "budget doesn't much allow" then scrolled down to see a massive wall of what looks like a thousand knives

Great pics though, I enjoy collection photos which you are right, are great for size reference.
I was really just referring to the fact that I don't really collect any custom work. I just can't figure out how to justify the added value due to being unique or limited. I try only to collect knives as tools with intrinsic value as such, but I do like personalizing them a bit.
Impressive! I see a lot of nice steel. You're putting my collection to horrible shame haha! Oh and how do you like your Kershaw launch?
I don't find myself carrying the launch much. They are legal to own but arguably illegal to carry where I am. The handle is very smooth, and the thing launches like it has a vehicle suspension spring in it. I think everyone who has handled it has dropped it upon launch even after my warning.
Very nice collection, congrats but how do you lock them up when away for security.
I don't believe in storing things like this in a safe. They are dear to me, but I like to enjoy them and that is too difficult if they are always secured away. I live on the top floor of a secured building with reinforced steel doors and brick walls in an area that has no crime. Anything is possible, but I don't feel like I'm at much risk.
Very nice setup! I like the bowl of folders on the counter
I'm wondering how you can be that deep in knives and just be getting on blade forums?
A fair question. There are so many rules here. It's just been a bit daunting to me. I started out on another forum more specifically geared toward my style. Blade Forums has always been a great information resource to me though.
I've seen pics of the wall before but it always makes me drool a bit.
So much for anonymity.
