Oddly, they seem to be dropping salesman-required sales at one large WM locally. They had the boxed 119's for 'Clearance - $30', while the blister-packed version is on the pegboards at $34.68. The 110's were <$30. I saw my17+ year old 310 Stockman - for less than it cost up in Gatlinburg when my first wife bought it for me back then. Odd - I had to look - 'Made in China'. Oh well.

Side note - The S30V steel Spyderco 'Native', item #60 on their picture display, is OOS - and not available from W-M's for re-stock. At $39.48 - and made in 'Golden CO USA EARTH' according to the blade - it was a 'deal' for a sample of that steel's excellent capability. It's my only side excursion, other than Puma's, away from Bucks.

You saw a Buck 310 Whittler in a Wal-Mart????

Was the 110 and 119 made in China also?

No, the 110 and 119 are still made right here in Idaho.
I'm not sure what 310 you saw? The 301 is still made in Idaho but there is a wood handled version, model 371, that is made over there.

Thanks, I really like the 110 and the 119 frames, I'm buying more too.

I've carried the 301 frames so much that I use that I just plane wear them out.

A great EDC.

Do you know how Buck the Company is doing?

And are they profitable in this Market climate?

And do they have a future in this world trade environment?

Sorry, must be I lexicdys! Yeah, it was a Stockman - 301 - I thought that the box said 'Made in China' - but it didn't have the #301 on the box. I'll double check. (It's a 'head's up' for a cheaper 119, if anyone wants one - they are replacing the boxed units with the blister-packed ones.) That Stockman was <$20. My old one was in my pocket... The 110 & 119 were made here, of course. Perhaps my lusting for a 310 is more than subliminal...

OK, that should be a 371 if it's from the China import line.

For a second I was hoping they had added another knife to the line...a new 310 would be cool.

Or if Joe is reading, a 377 jumbo stockman.... HINT HINT :D

We made the trek all the way back to the W-W that had the display - picture #25 looked like the #301 in my pocket. The boxed knife was made in PRC - and it had a #371 on the box label. It had wood scales - they looked black in the photo. Of course, the trip was a 'necessary evil' - my wife had 100+ pictures in her digital camera she wanted printed. We had to wait. Sadly, said W-W is .6 mi from my house. The one with the closeout $30 119's is 6 mi. They are everywhere!

All this talk of the 300 series has got me thinking of getting one.
Used to have one back in the 70's. Traded it to a gas pump jockey for $10 worth of gas.

Back in the day that was plenty of gas to cruise the night with my friends in my pop's pickup. Which I ended up crashing into 6-8 parked cars that night.
Oh, Buck memories...

Sidebar:
Mrs Goose was borrowing my digi-camera. She said, "wow...you have more pics of Buck knives on this camera than you do the kids, grandkids, or me".
I just looked like, "and your point is?".

OK I just bought more Bucks today a 110 and a 119.

They didn't have any 301,s or I'd have these too.

I didn't hear back from anybody on how this company stands business wise.

So I keep buying these,
1 Because i really like them and aways have.
2 Because I learned a hard lesson from two other companies i really liked in NY that closed and the supply dried up or all they make are cheap copies of the real thing.

I will be buying more USA Bucks this year.

I'm bored and it's too hot to mow the lawn...

Hard to say as they are privately held.
Sales estimated at FY ending Dec: $13.9M
265 employees
Revenue per employee: $52.4k
Saved ~$3M per year by moving from CA to ID
Median Household Income in Post Falls: $38.4k

Thanks Phil...
Personally, when I checked Hoovers, I thought the $13.9M figure seemed low.
Wonder wuzup with that?
Warm Regards...

Buckaholic, based on the numbers you quoted I was going to buy a bunch of Bucks as soon to be collector's items....lol....Glad to hear they are doing much better than that !!!!!

By the way I mowed the lawn and trimmed the hedges and it is 95 in Long Island,NY ......lol

Thanks for the information.

I just hope for the Buck Knife Company stays strong from decades to come.

What a great product line of knives.

And I will continue to support this company with my dollars for years to come.

10-4 555. I think I need to do more this year to support the Idaho economy.

Tom...I admire your ambition, motivation, and "can do" attitude.
As for me...I'm a slacker.

Wondering why kids don't go door to door offering to mow lawns for $10 like when they used to when I was a kid.
Tell ya what Tom...mow my lawn...and I'll give you my Buck Revolution with built in bottle opener ;)

555 I have the same atitude as you...support buck! I have always thought of buck as the traditional outdoors knife people depend on. I like all the nostalgia and tough built quality strength and sharp blade designs of the buck. I take my 110 to the mountains all the time since I've gotten it and really never feel underknifed at all. I don't even feel overwhelmed to carry 2 or 3 blades anymore. Although I usually take 2. Trying to find an excuse to take another knife but can never justify the security and trust I have in my 110. Although I do like many different styles of knives I will continue to support buck with my money!
