I have not been in a Walmart in 5 years. I stopped in for something and with my recent interest in knives I decided to stop at the knife counter.
Wow, they had some good deals marked clearance. Spyderco Tenacious for $25. Kershaw Blur for $40. Lots of CRKT stuff plus Ozark and Camillus for well under $10. Some under $5.
Do all Walmarts clearance knives like this? I may have to start hanging out at Walmarts.
There was nothing I needed but I bought some for friends. I sharpen and lube them and give them to friends. Everyone seems to appreciate a decent knife and they are small making them excellent discrete gifts. I am currently trying to amass a pile of gift knives for some of my employees. My retirement is coming up and they are the ones who made it possible.

Walmart clearance selection for knives is very hit or miss. I check my two local WMs a few times a month and haven't seen any deals like those. Ever.

I did find some Leatherman MTs on clearance at a Target a few years ago and bought a few. About the only good clearance deal I've ever found at one of the big retail stores.

Congrats on your upcoming retirement. Sometimes I get the feeling I will never retire.

Best deal I’ve ever gotten at Walmart was a Buck 110 mismarked as a Bucklite for $19. I told the dude who rung it up that I thought it was marked wrong but he didn’t care. Walked out with a shiny new 110 for 19 smackers.

Haven’t been to a Walmart in over 6 months, and the way things are now that trend will continue.

Agree with the hit/miss observation. Their marketing model is quite sharp, and if product doesn't move, they get it out of the store.

I have read about several good deals on BF that were at someone's local Walmart, but not mine. I will walk by the knife counter if I am in the store, but no moe deal chasing trips.

I'll admit that when I am in there, I usually stop and look at the knife counter. There are a couple that I have bought, mainly the Tenacious and the Kershaw Leek. Great starter knifes for gifting. The rest I pass on, the money saved adds to the never ending need for funds for the higher end stuff that I covet.

I haven't seen much in the way of deals in local stores. I did get a deal awhile back on their web site. Fallkniven F1 with black coated blade and leather sheath. $20. I bought 5. Sold & shipped by Walmart, not counterfeits. They were just moving some old stock.

Be careful buying Chinese Kershaws at Wal-Mart. Some are 3Cr steel. Yuck.

My Walmart never has these great deals and only has a very small knife display under lock and key.

It’s ok though. I am not really a fan of the retail chain.

Picked up a Buck(can't remember the name but American made/generic liner lock clipped folder) and a Leatherman Rev at Walmart last summer for dirt cheap---it was only at one store and there are like 10 stores in the area.

Wow  I would have done the same
