I have been in four different Walmarts lately and it seems they have all done away picture board display in the counter and now have their knives in clamp packs handing for you to pick up.....there also seems to be a reduction in the number of models offered......the 110 is down a few dollars to $26.99. I am not sure if I like this set up. The good is that you do not have to wait for a know nothing clerk to see if the knife is even in stock, but the bad is less models and I noticed several knives had been stolen as there where cut open clamp packs missing knives in a few stores....have you guys seen the change also??

Not in Illionois yet either. Sometimes I wonder if that wouldn't be better as much as I hate those packs. I like the boxes but can never find a sale clerk to help and then when I do they act like its a big hassle to let you look at one. And God forbid if you want to look at more than one. I've come to the conclusion I just don't like Walmart anymore.

Not in the two wally's in CA I was just at. I agree with you K. I was at the super wally in Dixon CA....my wife was going to buy a 655 for me :). But, no sale clerk!!!!! We asked for one after 15 minute the kid who came to help did no have the keys to the display.....after 10 more minutes we left....the other wally did not stock the 655 :(.

Thanks for the update elsewhere....I was in the Woodbridge NJ one and the Levittown NY one ...they had both made the change

I went to the new one that opened up in Farmingdale, NY on 110 and they had the clam pack set-up. I too noticed a couple of clam packs cut opened w/ knives missing. Seems like Wallyworld is going to have a real shoplifting problem on there hands.

I live 100 miles east where Katrina hit and when they (wally) reopened 4 or 5 days later every bullet, gun and larger knife were pulled from the shelves for 3 or 4 weeks at every store in my area. I was told by several employees it was store policy for the affected area. Other local gun stores sold out within days. Moral of this story. Don't wait!
