Here's one I finished this morning. It's going as a raffle item at our county sportsmen's banquet. Proceeds go towards supporting Youth field Day, Special friends Fishing Day, etc.
Wire rope, walnut and ss furniture. Thanks for looking bruce/birdog

How did you stack up the layers to make that guard?

I downsized them for another application.
I just stack the individual pieces, epoxy, then grind to shape.
The 1/8' pieces are 420hc and don't know what the thinss are but they spark white.
