Walnut damascus and 1084

Here is another I had in Reno.

This is one of two large bowies I had at the show. This one is forged 1084, the blade measuring 10" and 15 3/4" overall. It is 1/4" at the spine near the guard. The fittings are damascus with exception of the finial and pomel which are blued steel. The handle is a really awesome piece of Claro walnut. The chatoyant ridges folow the lines of the handle perfectly, and flare out as the handle flares. It was a lucky find, as I sorted through all the wood I had and didn't care for the looks, then recalled this peice sitting under some papers on my desk.

The balance point is about 1" in front of the guard. It is kind of an understated peice, but has a little racey feel to it.

Hope you all enjoy

Damn Bail...

Fine work as always. Your pics are getting much better as well. Hope all is well at the goat ranch:)

I sure wish I could have made it to Reno and played with that one in person. You sure are turning out some terrific bowies Bailey - keep 'em coming!

Classy lines and understated elegance. I am wanting to try a takedown since I saw yours and Tim Foster's knives at Little Rock.

Thanks for the look,
Brett

Brett,

I am not that far from you. Maybe 1 1/2 hour drive. If you get some time, let me know and we can do one together.
