I've had a walnut Mnandi for almost a year now, and I was wondering if I should be doing anything to treat the inlays? Should I be oiling them or anything? I know that most wood inlays are stabilized, but I just wanted to be sure.
No ...the walnut isn't stabilized, and from what i know, only the box elder is stabilized. Despite what many think .....the mammoth is NOT stabilized. There's nothing you can do to hurt it. Mineral oil is fine, but will darken it. It's really not needed. Oil from your hands is all that's needed.
I have a small '03 annual with walnut inlays. I've used renaissance wax on it a couple times over the years. The inlays look like the day I got it and I do carry it.
